It was a big night for ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race,’ as well.
The first half of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place in Los Angeles this weekend, kicking off the biggest awards season of the year for the TV industry. The primetime Emmys will be held next weekend, but we’re here to celebrate nonfiction, and it was a big night for reality-based programming.
Ava Duvernay went home happy as 13th took home several awards, including Outstanding Documentary/Nonfiction Special. Elsewhere, David Attenborough’s Planet Earth II also enjoyed success, as did O.J. Made In America, while RuPaul’s Drag Race took home a few honors for reality series categories.
