‘Particle Fever’ Announces Distribution Plans as Higgs Boson Discovery Wins Nobel Prize

Particle Fever Distro

This morning it was announced that Peter Higgs and Francois Englert have won the Nobel Prize in Physics for the once-theoretical discovery of the Higgs boson particle. The honor is going to the work they did 50 years ago, but the prediction of the Higgs was finally validated last year when it was officially detected via the Large Hadron Collider.

So, what better time for a doc about the LHC and the Higgs discovery to be in the news, as well? Also announced today is the acquisition of Mark Levinson’s Particle Fever to be distributed by partners Abramorama (Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop) and Bond360. They’ve set a release date for March 5, 2014, opening at NYC’s Film Forum before expanding to other cities.

Particle Fever recently screened at the New York Film Festival, through which I saw the doc and called it “among the very best portrayals of passion and excitement ever put on screen.”
